Syrian Arab Republic receives regional and international attention directed
towards investment and economy development. Lately the Republic witnessed a
notable openness and economy development, where some governmental institutes
contributed with the assistance of international committees such as the
European Union- in supporting and developing small and medium enterprises
(SMEs), which play a pivotal role in increasing social and economic
development.</P>

finance and investment plays a key role in establishing and operating these
enterprises, the Arab Academy through the Small and Medium
Enterprises Center, and in cooperation with the Syrian Banks and the
Anti-Unemployment Commission, will organize the 1st Annual SME Forum,

the realization of balanced of socio-economic development, and the pivotal role
of finance and investment in the establishment and operation processes. The
friendly legal system, human resources development, successful marketing,
business incubators, mobilization of individual savings and their direction to
investment, role of commercial, Islamic and specialized banks and funds, will
all be evaluated. This is in addition to the role of consultancy bureaus, data
banks, business support center, securitization through financial markets, and
external loan guarantees.</P>
